The Biggest Names in the Texas Football Recruiting Class Tomorrow

Carr is clearly supporting former defensive line coach Brady Hoke, as the Mott Takeover became a Hoke/Carr lovefest, with players gushing about their mutual friendship. Supporting Carr is critical to the future of Michigan's football program. And it's encouraging to see Hoke getting back out on the recruiting trail to visit former players. It's not clear whether Carr's support will be enough, but it will go a long way.

Texas football recruiting class

There are many new names in the Texas football recruiting class tomorrow. First-year coach Steve Sarkisian is expected to sign 23 commits to the Longhorns' 2022 recruiting class, which could see some new members join the program between Wednesday and Friday. In addition, a handful of targets will make decisions between today and Friday, too. Let's take a look at some of the biggest names who could join the Longhorns tomorrow.

As of today, the class is full of highly talented players. Some of the stars include five-star offensive lineman Kelvin Banks and Mario Cristobal, who left Oregon for Texas. Texas' first full recruiting class ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 and No. 6 nationally. The remaining four prospects are all unranked. A number of other notable players are still undecided and could sign with Texas. In addition to the five-star players, there are several underclassmen slated to sign tomorrow.

Ohio State football recruiting class

The Ohio State football recruiting class of tomorrow will likely feature at least 20 members. Last year, the program had 15 members, while the recruiting class for the 2020 class had only fourteen. As things continue to progress, the school will look to add a quarterback, a few offensive linemen, one to three linebackers and some defensive backs. While the class could be larger than the average of 21 players, that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Another four-star defensive recruit is Cody Simon, a 2020 outside linebacker. He becomes the third four-star defensive commit in as many days. After Henry announced his commitment, Ohio State's class moved up to the top five, and is now in the elite tier of recruiting classes with Alabama, LSU, and Clemson. Day has circled the end of June as a target date to reach recruiting stability.

Rutgers football recruiting class

The Rutgers football recruiting class tomorrow will feature three players from New Jersey. The class will include three-star defensive lineman Isaiah Neal, Ohio high school standout Nick Parisi, four-star offensive lineman Ben Roebuck, and four-star running back Jabree Coleman from Philadelphia. The trio has received offers from 15 colleges. Rutgers has added a fourth player in linebacker Logan Barone, a five-star prospect from Central High School. While the 2023 class isn't ranked highly, the school has already secured four prospects and is expecting to have at least twenty. It's possible that Rutgers has benefited from the Covid restrictions, which limited evaluation camps and visits to the school. The program also landed several local four-star recruits during the pandemic, and it's hard to imagine a better time to get in the door.

Ohio State's offensive line coach

While the offensive line will be a key area of focus for OSU coach Urban Meyer this year, the players in the unit are not at 100 percent. That said, the line is expected to be one hundred percent by the start of preseason practice in July. While the line has not yet been fully evaluated, it appears that the starting five will remain unchanged. The starting five includes Matt Jones, Luke Wypler, Johnson and Donovan Jackson. Jones is an experienced starter and has worked well with the No. 1 group in each of the last two seasons. Johnson will be a first-time tackle, but he started last season at guard.

In a bid to improve the run game, Ohio State has hired offensive line coach Justin Frye. Frye will be responsible for the offensive line's ability to run the ball effectively, particularly in short yardage situations. He will work with offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, who is in charge of the running game. Frye, who played at UCLA and Boston College, will need to make sure that Paris Johnson Jr. plays at an elite level to get the Buckeyes into the Big Ten playoffs.
