How to Get Caught With a Fake License

You may think that driving without a valid license is very illegal, but thousands of people are doing so every day without even realizing it. There are many legal consequences if you are caught driving without a license. You could be impounded, your car could be impounded and your license can even be taken away. You could face criminal charges or at worst, be put in jail. No one wants to go to jail, but if you are stopped while with a fake license, you could find yourself in some serious legal trouble.

If you do happen to get pulled over for suspicion of driving without a license, don't panic. If you have a legitimate New York driver's license, you have nothing to worry about. The New York State Thruway Authority says that there is only one authorized place for a New York driver to obtain a new license. This authorized area is on the driver's side of the street on an approved toll road. If you do have a fake license and attempt to enter this restricted zone, the New York State Thruway Authority has said that you run the risk of getting into an accident and the likelihood of paying a fine is very high. While many people are not aware of the laws pertaining to fake licenses, there are some who are. For example, you can get caught carrying fraudulent licenses in many states including Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington D.C. In some states, you can face criminal charges. These include grand theft auto, conspiracy, identity theft, forgery, fraudulently using another person's license, conspiracy to commit a crime, drug possession with intent to sell, among many other charges. Many times, these charges are related to charges that occurred in other states. In some cases, these charges are actually brought against those drivers who were not carrying their valid ID.

Some drivers have no idea that they are carrying a fake license. These include individuals who have recently graduated from high school, college, or who have just started a new job. Some even believe that they are not even driving their own cars, but are simply visiting from out of town. Some fraudulent use also happens when non-residents move into a new home and try to fake their driver's license so they can gain access to the homeowner's property.

Those who have nothing to hide often get caught because of fake drivers license searches. If you have nothing to hide and are looking forward to starting a new job, then it is time to think about getting a new license. Don't get caught in any situation where you might have to produce your fake license. Don't get caught at the airport either, unless you are traveling to another state to work. In that case, you may need to produce your fake license as identification in order to get through customs.

If you don't want to be caught for the next couple weeks while you are trying to get used to driving a real car, then consider taking a course in safe driving. Some states will grant you a provisional license, which means you can drive on public roads until you get your official license. However, fake licenses cannot be considered as a substitute for a driver's license. It is illegal to drive anywhere without proof of insurance, even if you have a fake license. The penalties associated with driving without an insurance policy are always very serious and include heavy fines and even jail time.
